The biography of Nichiren, a masterpiece pictorial by Hokusai who was also a believer in Nichiren-shu (Nichiren school). Nichiren was a monk in the Kamakura period, founder of the Nichiren School that regarded the Lotus Sutra as the supreme Scripture. He was suppressed by extreme missionary activities, but it is said to have been helped by a number of miracles by Buddha’s protection.
