Beautiful mid-century Watanabe (see 6mm mark in lower left corner) woodblock print from famed Japanese artist, Hasui Kawase. Title and Description: Honmon Temple at Ikegami “Ikegami Honmon Ji”. Snowy day at Honmonji Temple in Ikegami. Kawase Hasui is one the great masters of the Shin Hanga movement. Shortly before his death in 1957, his art work was declared a Living National Treasure by the Japanese government. CONDITION: The print itself is in overall very good condition for its age with no tears or rips (only a small cut on the upper right edge). The edges have some damage/discoloration/yellowing from previous matting. Please see detailed pictures. Please understand the frame is not a factor in the pricing, as it is mostly unusable.
