This is a truly gorgeous print that depicts the gorgeous view of Amanohashidate, that is one of Japan’s three scenic views. The sandbar is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. There is an identical one listed on the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston website (this one is in better condition).
Rakuzan was born in Kyoto. When he was young, he studied under Takeuchi Seiho, a pioneer of modern Japanese painting and a representative painter of Kyoto painting. Contents: First edition made by Rakuzan.
Beautiful Hiroshige wood block print with vibrant blue color. The colors really pop! Print itself measures 8.75 x 13 inches. Paper frame adds another few inches or so. Beautiful 19th century piece. Photos are a good representation of condition.
