Hokusai Manga = his series of illustrated sketchbooks, first published in 1814. These are NOT modern reproductions. The sheets were removed from an original Meiji-bound volume and retain beautiful aged paper with light foxing and wear consistent with 19th-century prints. Subjects include: – Rocks – Birds – Mixed Sizes – Birds – Large Size – Cactus & Banana Leaves – Straw, Baskets, Tools – Flowers with Fern – Tigers, Monkey, Cat, Rooster, Fish – Yams, Roots, Flowers (Lilies & Peonies) Each sheet measures approx 8″ x 5.5″. Condition: Very good for age – original binding edges present, typical edge wear, light toning and foxing as expected from Meiji-era paper. Impressions are good and retain excellent visual appeal. A desirable and cohesive set for collectors of Japanese prints, ukiyo-e, and Meiji art.
