According to research, print is dated to 1932 and usually referred to as “Izumi Bridge in Rain” or Night Shower on Izumi Bridge. A beautiful composition of two figures running across a wooden bridge. Both are holding umbrellas, one of which is barefoot whilst carrying a paper lantern. Hallmarks: Piece is signed along left side center edge. Reverse side of woodblock is stamped Made in Japan. Dimensions: Mat Length 17 3/4″ x Height 9 7/8″. Visible Image Length 14 1/2″ x Height 6 1/4″. Print Length 15 1/8″ x Height 6 3/4″. Condition: Great vintage condition with very minor wear to print. Minor soiling to mat. Colors are strong and vivid. Print is not adhered to backing.
