This image is identifiable as a single sheet from “Yamashiro no kuni Ide no Tamagawa” / “The Ide Jewel River in Yamashiro Province, ” from an untitled triptych series of the Six Jewel Rivers. The design is a wonderful example of Kuniyoshi’s bijin and landscape work, combining a graceful female figure, flowering branches, patterned kimono, flowing blue water, and fine Edo-period textile detail.
