Ukiyo-e Ookiri Joruri Kaze ni Kuruu Nanoha Cho. ·Date of printing: 1897 (July 6, 1897). ·Artist: Toyohara Kunichika Tenpo 6. Born in Edo Along with Yoshitoshi Tsukioka and Kiyochika Kobayashi, he is an ukiyo-e artist representing the end of the Edo period and the Meiji period. From around 1846, he studied under Chikanobu Toyohara. From 1848, he became a disciple of Utagawa Toyokuni III, but he did not call himself Utagawa out of gratitude to Shushin. Known as the “last yakusha-eshi&#######x27;&#######x27; (illustrator of actors), he painted many yakusha-e that captured the character and individuality of the actor. He also invented a novel composition. Among his disciples were Chikanobu Yosu and Chikashige Morikawa. ·Work size: Length 36cm x Width 71.5cm. · Frame size (glass) Length 45 cm x Width 93.5 cm x Thickness 2.5 cm. There are small scratches on the forehead.
