A very intriguing Japanese Ukiyo-e Woodblock Oban print with a rare dramatic subject by leading artist of the Meiji period Toyohara Chikanobu. (better known as Ysh Chikanobu and Hashimoto Naoyoshi). Under a summer moon in Oshu (Mustu Province), the beautiful young Princess Nadeshiko is fulling silk cloth by the river. When she is attacked by the robber Tsuchikuro.
