Original cover and title slip. Amazing state of preservation without insect damage or other defects. There is no trace that was usage almost (Pastedown with different paper types only has foxing, but there is no content in this part). Since the first edition of this book has been issued, the era of decline for woodcut printing has continued by the spread of modern printing technology. The woodblock of this book, however, was carefully kept by the publisher, and was quietly waiting for the time of reprinting. In the 1960’s, when the movement to reevaluate woodcut printing became activate, it is the 2nd edition which was finally printed from the original woodcut after a generation. The binding is more robust and luxurious as a newly refurbished version.
