Year of publication: 1918. Size: 37×75cm (14.6×29.5 inch). Ukiyoe-Ha-Gashu is the first complete collection of Ukiyo-e in Japan that systematically contains handwritten Ukiyo-e. The first edition was published in 1906-08 and exhibited at the Japan-England Exposition (1910). The exquisite and luxurious woodblock printing technique, which is said to have required 200 times repeated woodblocks to complete a single print, is considered worthy of special mention in the history of Japanese woodblock printing. Ukiyoe-Ha-Gashu was published in several editions, including the first edition in a limited edition of 200 copies, a top-bound edition, and a standard edition. This is the third edition of the special top-bound edition, and according to the preface to the book, This edition has been further revised and published in response to the requests of enthusiasts. The works and color woodblock prints in this edition are not much different from those in the first limited edition. There are light stains on the paper mat. This item is not new.
