Here we have a 19th century Meiji period woodblock print by Japanese artist Ichimosai Yoshitora. Ujigawa Daigassen no Zu – Picture of the Battle at Ujigawa River. Painted by Ichimosai Yoshitora. Inscription on the left side. Sasaki Shiro Takatsuna. (Samurai commamder is shown racing across the River Uji atop a white horse to be the first to engage in battle – Battle of Ujigawa in 1184). Ukiyo-e painter active from about 1850 to about 1880. The condition is OK, It has been folded so please look at the pictures for condition, no tears. Approx 36 x 26 cm’s in size.
