He was a student of Hiroshige I. He is known as “Shigetora, ” “Shigemasa, ” and Ichiryusai. Title Thirty-six views of Tokyo Kaika 11, Takanawa Okido.
This is a truly gorgeous print that depicts the gorgeous view of Amanohashidate, that is one of Japan’s three scenic views. The sandbar is located in Miyazu Bay in northern Kyoto Prefecture. There is an identical one listed on the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston website (this one is in better condition).
Hiroshige is mostly known for landscape prints. This is a rare topic for him relatively speaking. This is an original antique Japanese woodblock print that dates back to the 1850s. It features the work of Ando Hiroshige and is an authentic piece.
