Shotei (born Hiroaki Takahashi) was one of the most influential 20th century woodblock artists, ushering in the shin hanga movement that completely revolutionized the field. This print is titled, “Street Musicians” I’ve also seen it titled, “Shamisen Player and Singer” or Street Singers. It is phenomenal and shows off a theme that Shotei excelled at – the shadowy silhouettes of figures in the evening. It is very nicely framed in an older wood frame under glass. Condition: The print and matting appear to be in excellent condition. Frame shows quite a bit of paint loss. Measurements: Print measures 7.125 inches high x 4.375 inches wide. Frame measures approximately 11.625 inches high x 8.625 inches wide. If the item is not paid for within this time frame, an unpaid item case will be opened. More pictures available on request.
