Slightly trimmed margins, with faint residue on reverse top margin, but displays a MINT image/design with superb colors. Includes the first state Bijutsusha seal in lower right margin. One of only eight Kawase Hasui designs published by Bijutsusha. Provenance: From Ex-Navy Officer stationed in Yokohama 1946. 10 -1/4 x 15. In the late 1920’s, the Bijutsusha released the series entitled Ukiyo-e monyo shu (Collection of Ukiyo-e designs), which contained eight landscape prints by Hasui (Hotei #’s 171-177) and four beauties by Yamakawa Shuho. Dates do not appear on the prints in this set and even today opinion is divided regarding their year of publication. According to Narazaki, this set was issues by Bijutsusha firm in Yotsuya, Tokyo, not to be confused with Kansai Bijutsusha in Osaka. The Bijutsusha publisher seal is written in hiragana and reads rumi. Please view our other listings of Japanese Woodblock Prints! The item “FIRST STATE! 1927 Kawase Hasui Mt.
