Up for sale very rare mid 19th century Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock print of the Kabuki actor Seki Sanjuro II as Azuma no Yoshiro by Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III). The year of the work is 1833, published by Joshuya Kinzo , edo period. Print is done on mulberry tree paper. Upper left side of the print inscription reads as Azuma no Yoshiro, Seki Sanjuro and lower right corner artist’s seal. You will be able to find more information on this print on The British Museum Website. Measurement : Print Height 13.5 in. Width 8 3/4 in. The frame height 14 1/2 in. Condition: Signs of wear commensurate with age. Paper discoloration and faded colors due to sun exposure. Overall age appropriate condition.
