Each painting is accompanied by seasonal flowers related to that month, allowing the viewer to feel the changing of the seasons through the painting. “January: First Visit to Myogi Shrine, ” which depicts the hustle and bustle of New Year, shows the geisha “Hama” from Yanagibashi making a pilgrimage to Myogi Shrine, known as the god of prosperous business.
