The Ako Incident This large-format set depicts characters from the popular play “Kanadehon Chushingura, ” based on the so-called “Ako Incident, ” in which 47 Ako Roushi (feudal lord’s samurai) attacked Kira’s residence on December 14, 15 Genroku (1688) to avenge the death of their lord, Kira Uenosuke. The upper panels are inscribed with the signatures of Kuniyoshi’s daughters, Yoshitori-onna (eldest daughter) and Yoshi-onna (second daughter), among others. This is the price of the sheet only.
