This is a beautifully rendered later edition of Evening at Ushibori by Kawase Hasui, a master of Japanese shin-hanga landscape prints. Originally created in 1930 (Showa 5), this piece features a peaceful twilight scene at Ushibori, with tranquil waters and soft, fading light. Printed with careful attention to detail and subtle color gradation, this later edition preserves the atmosphere and elegance of Hasui’s original work. The print bears a Kawase signature in the lower right. The print title and date are covered by the framing but the framer has included a xerox of the print showing the full margins which reveal this information. This print is beautifully framed with Hawaiian koa wood. Frame may show minor wear. Birth-Death: 1883 (Meiji 16) – 1957 (Showa 32).
