1933 is a recognized master of Japanese woodblock printing in the post-war era. This particular print, # 59 of 200, captures the apex of his approach to vertical white birch trees interlaced with horizontal glimpses of blue river, with impressionistic blotches of green leaves and understory. Fujita hand-signed this 1984 print, # 59 of 200 in the series. The artwork exposed by the tasteful double-matte measures 14 3/4″ x 6 1/2″. The carefully understated gray frame measures 19 3/4″ x 14″. This beautiful, calming work of art is ready to hang on your wall and render years of pleasure and contemplation. As stated under “Condition, ” above, this print is in fine, nearly pristine condition; clean, bright colors and absolutely no signs of aging, darkening, or other issues that appear in competing offers. We’d like to find it a good home.
