








Shizuo Ashikaga 1950s Vintage Signed Woodblock Heavenly bamboo (Nandina domestica) and Japanese white-eye (Zosterops japonicus) Framed Print Under Glass Uchida Kyoto Shizuo Ashikaga (1917-91) was a painter active during the mid-20th century. Born in Ehime Prefecture in 1917, Ashikaga graduated from Kyoto Municipal Arts University. He studied under Taikan Yokohama and worked primarily as a painter, but produced some kacho-e, or “bird and flowers pictures” for the woodblock printer Uchida in the 1950s This one is Heavenly bamboo (Nandina domestica) and Japanese white-eye (Zosterops japonicus). It is mounted, matted, framed and signed by the artist.
