Original Hiroshi Yoshida (1876 – 1950) Japanese. A Little Restaurant, circa 1933, Showa period, 20th century. Japanese woodblock print, from the series Twelve Scenes of Tokyo (Tokyo junidai). Sight size 14.25″ x 9″. Frame size 21.25″ x 14″. In frames behind glass with silk mat. Mat has minor water stain at the very bottom near center at frame edge about 1 wide. I have another print from this series that is similarly framed and examined; this one is likely adhered to a cardboard substrate, attached to the silk mat at the edge, so the margins of the print are currently inaccessible, along with any signatures or markings, though certainly authentic. The glass has minor fogging on the inside. Unexamined out of sealed frame. Framing is original and untouched, mid century.
