Takehisa Yumeji Woodblock Postcard Collection. The set was published by Kato Hanga Kenkyusho (Kato Woodblock Print Institute) in 1964 (Showa 39) and comes with its original portfolio and outer box. Each postcard is printed by the traditional Japanese woodblock printing technique on Japanese paper and features Yumeji’s elegant and timeless designs, including beautiful women (Bijin-ga), landscapes, seasonal scenes, and children. 22 of the original 24 postcards are included. The postcards are generally in very good vintage condition with bright colors. The original portfolio and outer box show age-related foxing, stains, and shelf wear. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description. This is an attractive collectible for admirers of Takehisa Yumeji, Japanese woodblock prints (mokuhanga), Shin Hanga, and traditional Japanese art.
